Prospering Christians

Christians Committed to Managing Money God's Way

God's ways are not our ways and it is a pleasure to be in a relationship with him.  As we follow his commands, we learn his plan for us.  It is in obeying his commands that we develop a loving relationship with him.  God has entrusted us as stewards of his money and the things that he has given us, for "the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof."

This means that we have to know what his word says about handling money and be willing to follow what God says.  The Prospering Christians are learning how to handle money God's way and helping others in the process.

The economic crisis of 2008 has had an effect on each one of us.  As we became deeper in the recession, God put on my heart the we needed teachings about prosperity.  It became clear that Christians needed to understand what God's word says about handling finances so that we could emerge from this crisis in a better position, armed with the word of God.

Our members are learning about the orphans and widows in Kenya so that we can be of service to them in providing funding for an education.   For those who are currently attending school and those who have not had the opportunity to attend school, we are opening doors for them as well.

This is what  the Word says about prosperity

"Joshua 1:8  "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein;  for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success."  It is clear from this passage that God intends for us to read his word and obey what he has laid down for us.  In doing this, we will prosper.

Psalm 35:27  "Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."  The Lord is pleased when we prosper.

3 John 2 - "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

It is clear from God's word that he wants us to prosper.  Prosperity involves making wise use of the funds with which the Lord has entrusted us and living according to his word.  There are many issues involved in the wise use of money and we will explore each one of these.  We believe it is possible to live the abundant life which Jesus promised us in John 10:10, "The thief cometh not but to steal, to kill, and to destroy.  But I am come that they may have life and have it more abundantly."

Join us as we learn more about prosperity and put God's commands into action.  In order for us to make an impact in the lives of these children and the widows, we need your help.  Please consider making a donation to help this cause.  Your contribution is appreciated.

Christians Must Be Wise in Their Spending

Christians, be aware that some are coming in Jesus' name to deceive the many.  The Bible says:   in Matthew 7: 15  "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."  Some of the group members have had an experience with an apostle who claimed he was supporting orphans and widows in Kenya.  He asked for donations, and when we sent him the money, we learned he was really spending the money on himself.

The Bible warns us in I Timothy 6:10 that:  "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."  Some people greedy for gain and not trusting God to supply all their needs are wandering around leaning on their own understanding.  As a result, they are resorting to lies and falsehood to get their needs met.   We must be "wise as serpents and innocent as doves."  Matthew 10:16.

We had planned on making a mission trip to Kenya to tour a school and visit an orphanage.  However, due to the recent developments, we will not be going on this mission trip in June 2010.

At this site, we will explore God's word in depth relative to finances.  We will also keep you advised of the schemes and scams that Christians are falling victim to, including those of the false apostles and false teachers who are coming to collect donations for their causes, but are really using the money for themselves.

In spite of the dificulties and misfortunes we faced, we will not allow this to interfere with our love for God and Jesus and our desire to do his work.  We will continue to give to those charities that are worthwhile.  Romans 8: 28 says, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."   We invite you to join us here and Face Book and to read the blogs.

                       Prosperous People Work Hard

One of the first lessons of prosperity is that of work.  In order to prosper, one has to work hard.  There is no other way.  Even though we pray to God for answers to our financial situation, He still expects us to work.  Very often, the answer to a prayer for financial breakthrough will involve work.  The Bible is very clear on the need for a good work ethic.  Proverbs 28:19 says, "He who works his land will have abundant food, but the one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty."  Christians must work and they must spend their time wisely.

God has given us gifts, talents and skills to help us make a living.  it is up to us to use those gifts, talents, and skills to prosper.  Some know what their talents are and some do not.  This can be a problem when trying to find work or when discovering one has been down-sized or laid off from work.  The challenge is to find a job or start a business using the same skills.  It might involve doing something totally different.

If a Christian cannot locate suitable work or decide on a career, he/she must go to God in prayer.  God has a plan for everyone and it is important to move and work with God's plan rather than one's own.  Jeremiah 29:11-14 says, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord; plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future."

This verse pertains to all Christians.  In order to find out what the plan is, God encourages us in verses 12 and 13, "Then you will call upon me and pray to me and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."  The way to find out God's plan for you is to seek him with all your heart.  This means that it will take a a lot of searching and asking questions.  It could take months for God to reveal the plan to you.

If you were to die today do you know, for sure, that you would go to heaven?
